Made the 18 hour drive from Florida to New Jersey pretty smoothly.Stopped in Maryland for a brief snooze and arrived at our hotel 5 minutes from the Izod Center by about 2pm. The tailgate party failed miserably mostly because the temps were in the 30's and the original meet up lot was closed due to construction which messed things up.
However, once we made our way inside to the welcomed warmth my brother and our friends Joyce
and Rob settled into the 5th row center,I went my separate way to the front row right in front of Pete.I was so lucky to score this seat from the VIP pre-sale.
I was quite anxious to hear Sister Disco which is one of my fave Who songs of all time, although some fans don't like this song which boggles my mind, but each to one's ears I guess.I just love the lyrics in this song. It's cool that some filmed some of this show as The Who decided not to do the Encore Series this tour.
My other fav't Getting in Tune is the Youtube video here,I must say this song was my absolute fav't of the two shows I went to.Roger sang it so perfectly,it brought back the good ole feelings of discovering the Who's Next album back in 1981.
It was awesome that they brought back some QUAD songs that were missing totally from the 2006-2007 tour.
It was fantastic meeting up with our usual WHO crowd and just as fantastic meeting up with fans that I've never met in person before.
Back to the grind at work but looking forward to November 15th where the Kilburn 77 show will be shown at a local movie theatre on the big screen.Just enough to quell down the post Who tour blues.
Good seats Mike! I like Sister Disco, always have, the one I go to the bathroom on is you better you bet! lol Getting in Tune is another fav. Relay I like most.
Enjoyed reading your journey to The Who. As Always.
Hope you are well, not working toooo hard! take care, xox
ooh, so excited about the Rachel - Pete link... thank you thank you. :)
It came up who are you. oh bummer, had to see that. lol that was a good one.
sorry..got it. yay!
Awesome videos you've posted there, Mike. I was delighted to hear the song at the Hamilton show. Those little tweaks in the setlist were worth the drive.
I hope you're well.
xx
